Restriction on pre-emption rights of the Agricultural Property Agency

An amendment to the Agricultural System Act of 11 April 2003 went into effect on 8 July 2010.
The amendment changes the rules for functioning of the statutory right of pre-emption with respect to agricultural land in Poland on the part of the Agricultural Property Agency.
From the effective date of the amendment, the statutory right of pre-emption vested in the Agricultural Property Agency no longer applies to agricultural land in Poland with an area of less than 5 hectares. The change will allow transactions in smaller plots of land to be carried out more quickly and with fewer complications.
